Maoist Center will be in leadership again: Prachanda



KATHMANDU: CPN (Maoist Centre) Chairperson Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has expressed his confidence that his party will take leadership of the country again.

Addressing the seventh annual general meeting of the Posta Bahadur Bogati Memorial Foundation organized at the party’s central office in Kathmandu on Saturday, chairperson Dahal claimed that if his party would reach the leadership again provided it went to election united and acknowledging the public’s sentiments.

Calling for unity among the people and group having the similar ideologies, Dahal argued that the need of the hour was to move forward uniting all the leftist ideologies.

Furthermore, the former Prime Minister claimed that he had not seen any in his party and leadership among the people at home and abroad and stated the people have deep faith and trust in the role played by his party in the past.

According to him, more and more people are attracted to his party lately and joining the party, he admitted that the May 13’s local level’s election result was poor due to lack of uniformity in ideologies and practices and the factionalism prevailing within the party.

He explained, “We have public support. The party got defeat in the local level election due to contradictions within the party.”
