41 percent votes cast till 2 pm: Election Commission



KATHMANDU: 41 percent of the votes have been cast in the local level election till 2 pm today, according to the Election Commission (EC).

Spare a few sporadic incidents, voting, in general, is ongoing peacefully and enthusiastically in all polling stations since 7 am this morning, the EC said.

A statement issued by EC Spokesperson Shaligram Sharma Poudel said around 41 percent of voting had taken place across the country till 2 pm.

Notably, voting is not taking place in Maharajgunj Municipality, Kapilvastu, and Ward No 17 of Tulsipur Sub-metropolitan City, Dang, due to the demise of deputy mayor candidate in Maharajgunj and ward chair candidate in  Tulsipur-17.
