Election officer arrested in Sarlahi



SARLAHI: Police have arrested a polling officer in Balara of Sarlahi district.

According to Sarlahi police sources, Raj Kishor Sah, a polling officer stationed at a polling station in Balara Municipality-3, has been nabbed for prompting voters to cast votes at his (Sah’s) choice.

Police informed that Sah, who was stationed at the old VDC building polling station, allegedly taught the voters to vote for a party he favored.

Efforts are underway to resume voting under another official, the police said.
