Daraz Nepal gets new Managing Director Aanchal Kunwar

KATHMANDU: Aanchal Kunwar has been appointed Managing Director of Daraz Nepal. Prior to joining Daraz, she was working in a managerial position at the ecommerce giant Amazon.

Daraz CEO Bjarke Mikkelsen said the appointment was in line with Daraz’s policy of appointing locals as MD in respective country as part of its ‘localized’ business strategy.

Kunwar will replace the outgoing MD Lino Ahlering who led Daraz Nepal for the last 3 years taking it to new heights. The change comes following the take-over of Daraz by Alibaba Group from Rocket Internet SE.

Meanwhile, outgoing MD Ahlering has been appointed Chief Customer Officer.

Kunwar is a seasoned professional with 15 years of work experience abroad in top positions. For the past 5 years, she was at Amazon where she served in various positions.

Lately, she was working as a Program Manager for the Global expansion team, at Seattle. Before that, she served at Carlson Wagonlit Travel for over 8 years.
