COVID-19: 23.6 percent infected in 15,081 tests



KATHMANDU: Data showed COVID19 infection rate of 23.6 percent in the country Thursday.

Altogether 3,553 people were found infected with the coronavirus in the past 24 hours.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the new cases were confirmed in 15,081 tests, representing 23.6 percent rate of infection.

The number of active cases of infection has climbed to 14,340. The average infection rate in Nepal stands at 16.9 percent.

The districts with more than 500 infections are Morang, Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kaski.

Similarly, Sunsari, Chitwan, Makwanpur, Banke, Rupandehi and Kailali are among the districts with more than 200 infections.

Mugu is the only district with zero active case of COVID-19.

At present, 13,503 people are being treated in home isolation, 837 in institutional isolation, 110 in ICU and 25 with the support ventilator.

Also today, 356,004 people have been vaccinated against COVID-19.

So far, people with the first dose of vaccine has reached 15,464,335 people and with both or full dose is 11,691,393.
