Nepal sees 179 new coronavirus cases, one death in past 24 hours



KATHMANDU: Nepal recorded a total of 179 new cases of coronavirus and one death in the past 24 hours as of Monday.

Of the confirmed cases, 127 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 52 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 4,959 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours.

Of them, 2,600 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 2,359 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 2,271 active cases in the country as 171 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

One coronavirus related death was recorded in the past 24 hours, and with this, the COVID-19 death toll in the country climbed to 12,015 to date.
