13 Nepali migrants who reached Dubai on visit visa stranded



KATHMANDU: Thirteen Nepali people who reached the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for foreign employment have been stranded.

They had reached Dubai four months ago and now have been left high and dry without jobs.

Those stranded are Raju Sunam, Sudip Saru Magar, Kuber Tamang, Dinesh Sahani, Sajir Husain, Bijaya Nanda Yadav, Dhan Bahadur Bayambu, Ram Chandra BK, Dawa Lama and Sudarshan BK.

Agent Sushil Dong had taken them to Dubai on a tourist visa promising them jobs of security guards.
According to Sudarshan BK, a victim, broker Dong took them to Dubai by taking Rs 430,000 each and left them stranded without jobs as promised.

“With high expectation, we came to Dubai by taking out a loan. Now, we have landed here without jobs. How can we pay back our loan,” laments Sudarshan.

Meanwhile, they have appealed to the Nepal Association in the UAE to take the initiative in recovering their money from the agent and bring the fraudster to book.

They have also urged the Nepali Embassy in Abu Dhabi, the Nepal government and Department of Foreign Employment to make necessary arrangements for their rescue.
