Still 60,000 textbooks are inadequate in Karnali

KARNALI: Roughly 60,000 pieces of textbooks are still inadequate in the Karnali province.

The Surkhet-based Janak Siksha Samagri Kendra Provincial Office said it has not been able to supply adequate textbooks in Surkhet, Dailekh and Jajarkot districts of Karnali province.

As shared, the office has requested the Centre to arrange around 60,000 text books required for the districts.

Provincial Office chief Dhana Bahadur KC shared the most lacking are of Nepali, Social Studies, Science, Health & Physical and Occupation subjects of grade eight.

The students have not yet accessed textbooks this year due to delay in the printing of books by Janak Sikshya.

The new educational session commences from Falgun (February-March) in hilly districts and from Baisakh (April-May) in mountainous districts.

Students and their parents are irate for not getting textbooks when the half yearly examinations are at threshold.
