NAC resumes services to Bajhang, Achham and Doti

KATHMANDU: The national flag-carrier Nepal Airlines Corporation (NAC) has reconnected Chainpur of Bajhang, Sanphe of Achham and Dipayal of Doti through its service.

This follows after Minister for Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation, Prem Ale directed the NAC to include the above mentioned destinations as part of its regular flight service.

According to the Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal (CAAN) Chief for Dhangadhi-based Geta Airport, Ram Krishna Bhatta, currently the NAC has been operating its regular flights to Chainpur, Sanphe and Dipayal airports twice a week (Monday and Friday) while the flights to Bajura are dependent on the number of passengers.

The NAC had suspended its services to the hilly districts of Sudurpashim Province a while back, citing lack of passengers and aircrafts as well. But private airlines companies had been arranging occasional flights on need basis.

The NAC has, however, yet to connect Patan Airport in Baitadi. The private airlines, Summit Air, has been operating its flights to Patan Airport.

NAC Executive Officer Yuba Raj Adhikari said homework was underway to operate regular flights to other hilly districts in Sudurpaschim.
