DOHA: As many as 150 passengers have been stranded at the Riyadh International Airport, Saudi Arabia as the Himalayan Airlines canceled the flight on Wednesday without any information.

Several passengers were reportedly stranded after a Himalayan Airlines flight from Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, to Nepal failed to arrive on Wednesday, February 9 at 2:10 p.m.

Passengers who were waiting for their return to Nepal on regular leave expressed fury saying that the airline did not arrive.

After the flight was canceled, the airlines kept the passengers in a hotel until Friday morning and refunded the ticket money. However, the passengers have demanded the airline company refund the money that they had spent for PCR tests.

The Saudi representative of Himalayan Airlines, meanwhile, did not want to be contacted when trying to reach him.

Meanwhile, the Kathmandu-based office of Himalayan Airlines has stated that flights from Riyadh and Dammam in Saudi Arabia to Kathmandu have been postponed.

The airline said in a statement that it was unable to operate any passenger flights to the Kathmandu-Dammam-Kathmandu and Kathmandu-Riyadh-Kathmandu areas until further notice due to unavoidable circumstances.

“We will ensure that flights to these areas resume operations once the situation returns to normal,” the statement said.

The airline has also asked passengers to contact the concerned travel agencies or its sales office for the full ticket refund and free rescheduling facility.
