US man given genetically-modified pig heart dies



KATHMANDU: The first person in the world who received a heart transplant from a genetically-modified pig has passed away.

David Bennett, who had terminal heart disease, survived for two months following the surgery in the US.

His doctors in Baltimore said Bennett’s condition began to deteriorate several days ago, and the 57-year-old breathed his last on 8 March.
