15-year-old girl ‘gang-raped’ in Kailali

KAILALI: A 15-year-old girl has filed a police report against four men on charge of raping her.

On September 6, a group of four men took her to an isolated place and reportedly gang-raped her when she had gone to watch Deuda dance at Sukhad bazaar of Ghodaghodi Municipality in Kailali district, she said in the charge-sheet filed at the Area Police Office, Sukhad.

Following the filing of complaint, three of the accused have been apprehended and investigations are underway while another one is on the large, said Deputy Superintendent of Police Laxman Shahi.

The police took the ‘rape survivor’ to a local hospital for treatment when they saw her wandering on the streets the following day, he said.

“The girl was unconscious when the police found her. After treatment, she regained her consciousness, and we handed over her to her family.”

The girl is receiving treatment at a hospital now, he said.
