Country witnessing light to moderate rainfall today



KATHMANDU: The country is witnessing light to moderate rain today, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology.

Currently, heavy rain is taking place in the Kathmandu Valley.

Meteorologist at the Department, Raju Pradhananga, said that chances of rain are high as the low-pressure line of monsoon is south from its usual position.

The Department said that there is a chance of rain in some places in Bagmati, Gandaki, Lumbini Lumbini provinces in the next 24 hours.

Likewise, heavy rain along with thunder is forecast in one or two places in Lumbini province.

Weather in the nation will remain partly to generally cloudy with the chance of light to moderate rainfall with thunderstorms and lightning in a few places on Saturday and chances of heavy rain in one or two places of Lumbini and Sudurpaschim provinces.

As per the latest details of the Meteorological Forecasting Division, today’s minimum temperature of the Kathmandu Valley is recorded at 20.2 degree Celsius and the maximum temperature at 25.2 degrees Celsius.
