CIAA files graft case against Mugu’s divisional forest officer and six others



KATHMANDU: A graft case has been filed in the Special Court against divisional forest officer Bharat Bahadur Budthapa of District Forest Office, Mugu, and six others.

The Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) filed the case against Budathapa, sub-engineers Himal Kumar Malla and Gorsingh Badhuwal, among others, accusing them of embezzling the money disbursed by Karnali Province government to District Forest Office, Mugu, for construction of a tourist road from Chankheli mountain to Dudhtal Sathdaha in Chhayanath Rara Municipality-14, Mugu.

Additional, CIAA also filed the case against Road Construction Consumer Committee chair Surendra Bahadur Budha, vice chair Ganlal Budhuwal, treasurer Chaurasila Budha and secretary Laxman Budha for colluding with Division Forest Office, Mugu, in the embezzlement.

The CIAA has claimed around Rs 2 million from them, stating that they had committed irregularities during the route construction process.
