Locals vandalize 14 tippers carrying garbage in Bancharedanda



NUWAKOT: Local residents of Bancharedanda have blocked tippers carrying Kathmandu’s waste claiming that their demands have been ignored.

They even vandalized 14 tippers carrying garbage and damaged 3 dozers used in road construction.

Earlier, Bancharedanda Landfill Site Affected Area Concern Committee had warned against dumping garbage as the agreement reached between the locals and the authorities was not implemented.

Coordinator of the committee Shree Ram Dhungana had earlier accused the government and the Kathmandu Metropolis of not bseing serious towards fulfilling their demands.

Residents of Dhunibensi Rural Municipality-1 had stopped tippers from taking garbage for a few days demanding that the road be repaired.
