Nepal Police clinches National Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament title



PALPA: The departmental team of Nepal Police Club has lifted the title of Sanjay Smriti National Women’s Beach Volleyball Tournament held at Ranimahal, Palpa.

Police clinched the title by defeating Lumbini Province team 2-0 in a straight set in the final held on Saturday. Police won the game 21-8 and 21-17.

Earlier, the police team and Lumbini team had made room for the final match by defeating Gandaki Province 21-19 and 21-9 and Sudur Paschim Province respectively.

Lumbini, who became the runner-up, got Rs 50,000 while the police got Rs 100,000 along with the title.

Similarly, in the match for the third place held on Saturday, Sudur Paschim Province defeated Gandaki Province 2-0 in a shared set.

Sudur Paschim clinched the third position defeating Gandaki at 21-12 and 21-17. After securing the third position, Sudur Paschim bagged Rs 30,000.

Nine teams had participated in the competition organized by Sanjay Memorial Foundation.
