COVID-19: Government urges people to take extra precaution

KATHMANDU: The government has urged people to take extra precautions as the number of people infected with the coronavirus has been increasing of late.

Chief District Officers (CDOs) of three districts in the Kathmandu Valley have prepared to implement strict measures in the crowded areas, including marketplaces.

Chief District Officer of Kathmandu, Govinda Prasad Rijal said that CDOs in the Valley would meet in a day or two to discuss the future course of action.

Likewise, according to the Chief District Officer (CDO) of Lalitpur district, Ghanshyam Upadhyaya, they will take the necessary action as per the instructions of the Ministry of Health and the Covid-19 Crisis Management Committee (CCMC).

He added that they are moving forward with the technical guidance of the Ministry of Health and the directives of the CCMC.

CDO Upadhyaya also said that the vaccination campaign would be intensified, health standards would be strictly adhered to and crowds would be controlled.
