Economy cannot develop sans participation of private sector: Prachanda



KATHMANDU: CPN Maoist Center Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that the national economy cannot be developed without the participation of the private sector.

Addressing the Nepal Infrastructure Summit 2022, Prachanda said that the way forward was embrace of public private partnership model for progress.

On the occasion, he said that it is necessary to change the general attitude towards the private sector.

“The attitude of the state towards the private sector and the private sector towards the state must change,” the Maoist chair said.

He opined that the state should be more responsible for bringing in foreign investment.

He shared that in the tripartite meeting with the Indian Prime Minister and the Chinese President, it would be appropriate to act as facilitator bridging widening gap between China and India.

He expressed happiness that the a summit on digital infrastructure that was crucial in the 21st century was held.

He also said that Nepal had entered the era of peace and stability and was on the path of development.

After the election, he vowed to amend the laws for the economic development of the country.
