DDA bans sale of Bio-D drops



KATHMANDU: The Department of Drug Administration (DDA) has banned sales of a drug named Bio-D drops administered to children citing its side effects.

The drug caused various side effects to children who have taken it prompting its ban, according to a notice issued by the Administration’s Director General Bharat Bhattarai.

The drug has been manufactured by Zee Laboratories LTD. in India. Any things that have not been approved by the Administration as per the Drugs Act, 2035 cannot be considered medical drugs and their quality, safety and effectiveness ascertained.

So the Administration urges the authorities not to supply and sell these things, the notice issued by the Administration, reads.
