Govt recommends Prez to convene budget session on May 17



KATHMANDU: The Council of Ministers has recommended the President convene a budget session for May 17.

According to Sports Minister Maheshwar Gahatraj the cabinet meeting held on Sunday morning decided to recommend to President Bidya Devi Bhandari to convene the convention on May 17 at 4 pm.

The budget has to be brought in by May 29.

Before the budget, the president has a tradition of presenting the government’s annual policy and program in the parliament.

However, the effectiveness of the budget session of the parliament is still uncertain as the main opposition CPN-UML has been obstructing the House of Representatives since September 6.
