Murder-accused arrested from Qatar and Bahrain



KATHMANDU: Two murder-accused persons were arrested from Qatar and Bahrain through Interpol.

Ashok Gurung, 46, of Dharan, Sunsari was arrested for his involvement in the murder of a 20-year-old Rojan Rai, who had been engaging in daily wage works for livelihood at Lekhnath of Kaski. He was arrested after 15 years.

Rai who was critically injured after being thrashed on 29 Baishakh evening in 2063 BS died while undergoing treatment. Following the murder incident, accused Gurung had left for Bahrain for foreign employment.

The District Police Office Rupandehi had issued a red corner notice against him at international level for search and arrest.

Another absconding accused Bibeki Muskan, 41, of Bishnupur rural municipality-5 Laxmipur has been arrested from Qatar after six years of the incident. He was also under red corner notice.
