Bureaucracy plays important role in nation building: PM Deuba
Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said bureaucracy has an important responsibility for nation building.

HoR sends Media Council Bill for clause-wise deliberations
A meeting of the House of Representatives (HoR) today unanimously endorsed the proposal to send the Nepal Media Council Bill, 2076 BS to the respective parliamentary committee for clause-wise deliberations.
Minister for Communication and Information Technology, Gyanendra Bahadur Karki, presented the Bill along with the message from the National Assembly to the respective committee for the deliberations.
Police collects CCTV footage from hotels in Nagarkot and Sinamangal Lamichhane stayed in
The police took CCTV footage from hotels in Nagarkot and Sinamangal where Cricketer Sandeep Lamichhane had stayed in with a girl on August 21.
With the filing of a complaint on rape charges, the police have started collecting evidence against Nepali cricket team captain Lamichhane.
According to Kathmandu Police Chief SSP Bharat Bohra, the CCTV footage was collected from hotels in Nagarkot and Kathmandu where he was said to be staying.
President Bhandari consulting with former security officials on Citizenship Bill
President Bidya Devi Bhandari has continued what has been dubbed “intensive discussions” with experts and former security officials on the Citizenship Bill.
The Parliament sent the Citizenship Bill to the President for authentication.
Sources said the President’s Office has called more than 100 retired AIGs and IGPs of Nepal Police, Armed Police and National Investigation Department for consultation on the issue.
Government should control dengue outbreak at earliest: Lawmakers
Parliamentarians at today’s meeting of the House of Representatives have drawn the attention of the government to immediately stem dengue outbreak.
Putting his view during the zero hour, HoR member Prakash Man Singh demanded that the government promptly control dengue and cholera that are taking their toll across the country.
Stating that the viral infection has spread to 71 districts, Dev Prasad Timilsina urged the government to manage free treatment to dengue patients and free mosquito nets to the impoverished people.
Kathmandu District Court grants five more days remand against comedian Apurva
Kathmandu District Court has added five-day remand against comedian Apurva Kshitiz Singh accused of hurting the sentiments of the Newa Community in Kathmandu.
Singh has been in police custody since August 28.
