Women SAFF Championship: India beat Pakistan

KATHMANDU: India has made a victorious start defeating Pakistan, 3-0, in its first match played under the sixth edition of Women SAFF Championship on Wednesday.

The championship is being held at the Tripureshwar-based Dasharath Stadium in the federal capital, Kathmandu.

India took the lead through a suicide goal by Pakistan team captain Maria Khan in the 21st minute of play. India’s Grace Dangami netted the second goal for her team in the 23rd minute.

Saumya Guguloth sealed a victory for India by scoring a goal in the extra time of the second half of the game.

With this win, India’s score is three while Pakistan is without any points so far.

Maldives and Bangladesh are competing in the second match later today. The game started at 5.30 pm Nepal time.
