Nepal sees 78 new coronavirus cases in past 24 hours

KATHMANDU: Witnessing an uptick in COVID-19 cases in the past few days, Nepal recorded a total of 78 new cases of coronavirus in the past 24 hours as of Thursday.

Out of the confirmed cases, 60 were detected through the RT-PCR method and 18 through the Antigen method.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, a total of 3,515 swab samples were tested in the past 24 hours. Of them, 1,384 samples were tested through RT-PCR and 2,131 through the Antigen method.

Currently, there are 508 active cases in the country as 23 infected patients recovered in the past 24 hours.

No person died due to coronavirus in the past 24 hours. The COVID-19 death toll in the country stands at 11,952 to date.
