UML Chairman Oli labels Deuba-led government “five-faced” and “regressive”

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has lambasted the coalition government led by Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba for being “five-faced and regressive”.

Inaugurating the party’s district convention across the country on Friday, Oli also termed the PM Deuba-government a “reactionary” government.

He also came down heavily on the government for being a mere spectator at a time when people are being thrashed and thrown into the river.

Oli, who was ousted after dissolving the House of Representatives twice, claimed that he would form the government after becoming the first party in the upcoming election.

“We have the support of the people,” he said adding that his party would form a strong government after the election.

“Seats were distributed in the name of adjusting various parties some four years ago and now a reactionary alliance has been formed using the same as weapon,” he said, adding, “We are still strong alone.”

He claimed that the alliance will have a poor show in the fresh elections and urged party cadres to face the unfavorable situation for the time being.

Election for the 19 vacant seats in the National Assembly is being held on January 26.
