National Assembly election results can be unfavorable for UML: Chair Oli

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairperson KP Oli has said that the result of the National Assembly election could be unfavorable, yet he claimed that it would be the ruling coalition’s last resort to weaken UML.

Inaugurating the convention of 63 districts across the country through virtual medium on Friday, UML Chairman Oli said that the election to the National Assembly would not reflect the real mandate.

“Seats were distributed in the name of adjusting various parties some four years ago and now a reactionary alliance has been formed using the same as weapon,” he said, adding, “We are still strong alone.”

He claimed that the alliance will have a poor show in the fresh elections and urged party cadres to face the unfavorable situation for the time being.

Election for the 19 vacant seats in the National Assembly is being held on January 26.
