Parliamentary Committee to be formed to investigate Finance Minister Sharma’s alleged involvement in raising tax rate



KATHMANDU: A parliamentary committee is to be formed to investigate the alleged involvement of Finance Minister Janardan Sharma in raising the tax rate by admitting an unauthorized person to the ministry while preparing the budget for 2079/080.

According to sources at the PM’s residence in Baluwatar, a parliamentary committee will be formed today.

Meanwhile, Finance Minister Sharma is scheduled to speak in Parliament on Wednesday about the allegations against him.

Finance Minister Sharma said he would address today’s session of the parliament about his allegation.

Meanwhile, the CPN-UML Chief Whip Bishal Bhattarai said that they would not allow the finance minister to speak in the parliament today under any circumstances.
