Nepal wins Bhutan by four wickets



KATHMANDU: Nepal has defeated Bhutan by four wickets in the Asia qualifier of the ICC U-19 Women’s World Cup.

Nepal won the match in 13.1 overs on Monday in Kuala Lumpur.

Nepal completed the target of 67 runs given by Bhutan at a loss of 6 wickets.

For Nepal, Sanu Rajbanshi scored 30 runs, Sana Praveen 12, Shrishti Jaisi eight, Asma Pulami Magar three, Kiran Kumari Kunwar and Alisha Kumari Yadav two each.

For Bhutan, Sangya Wagmo took three wickets, and Anjuli Ghale and Sonam took one wicket each.

Earlier, Ngawang Choden and Sanjna Wagmo scored 11-11 for Bhutan. Other players could not score double digits.

For Nepal, Anu Kadayat, Manisha Upadhyay, and Kritika Marasani took two wickets each and Sneha Mahara took one wicket.

Earlier, in the first match of the series Nepal had defeated Qatar by 79 runs in the first match.

However, in the second match, Nepal lost to United Arab Emirates (UAE) by 10 runs. Nepal was all out for 8 runs in that match.

The top team from the Asian selection will make it to the World Cup to be held in South Africa.
