Committee formed to probe into suspended SP Pandey who threatened to shoot NC leader

KATHMANDU: Province 2 Police Office has formed a committee to carry out investigation into suspended Superintendent of Police (SP) Hira Bahadur Pandey who threatened to shoot an NC leader.

Pandey was suspended Thursday after it was confirmed that he threatened Nepali Congress (NC) Siraha district President Ram Chandra Yadav by reaching his house over a transfer-related dispute.

Nepal Police Headquarters suspended SP Pandey for three months on Tuesday, on account of his transgression with NC leader Yadav.

Province 2 Police Office said Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Masood Alam Khan was leading a five-member probe committee to dig into SP Pandey.

Nepal Police Spokesperson SSP Basanta Bahadur Kunwar said the committee was formed to further investigate into SP Pandey.

Nepal Police Headquarters informed that SP Arjun Timilsina had replaced SP Pandey following the latter’s suspension.
