Chair Oli for prosperous country

KATHMANDU: CPN (UML) Chairperson KP Sharma Oli asserted that time had come for the initiatives to ensure prosperity in the country.

Inaugurating the first international convention of the Prabashi Nepali Mancha (Overseas Nepali Forum) in Kathmandu on Saturday, Chairperson Oli reiterated, “UML is the party that will make Nepal strong and prosperous.”

Assuring his party was the one which would protect the nationality, maintain permanent peace and take forward development works as per the public need, Oli, also the former Prime Minister, appealed to those participating in the event to vote for his party.

The septuagenarian leader maintained that poverty alleviation, environment conservation and social security were the need of the hour for the Nepalis to live with comfort and pledged to play an important role in boosting patriotism.

He recalled the overseas Nepalis extending support to Nepal during suffering and observed, “I extend by gratitude to those helping hands during earthquake, natural disasters and COVID-19 pandemic among others. Let there be such support in the coming days as well.”

A total of 300 participants from 37 countries are attending the convention that will elect a new 31-member executive committee.

Also speaking in the event, CPN (UML) Standing Committee member and In-Charge of the Forum, Dr Rajan Bhattarai, lauded that the Forum had a huge role in socio-economic development of Nepal.
