Festivals help promote ethnic, lingual, and cultural ties: President



KATHMANDU: President Bidya Devi Bhandari has extended best wishes to all Nepali sisters and brothers at home and abroad on the occasion of the Bada Dashain festival, 2079 BS.

In a message of best wishes given today, the Head-of-the-State wishes the entire Nepalis across the world peace, happiness and prosperity.

“May this festival inspire the entire Nepali community to further contribute to building a just, equitable, and civilized society by further straightening the socio-cultural unity and bond,” the President said in the message.

She said she hopes this type of festival would help promote ethnic, lingual, cultural and geographical ties among the Nepalis by cultivating feelings of goodwill, tolerance and mutual cooperation among them.

“I hope the festival will eventually contribute to further consolidating the national integrity.”

Nepalis are observing the Vijaya Dashami, the tenth day of the 15-day long festival by receiving tika, jamara and blessings from their seniors today.
