Govt committed to hold free and fair elections: PM Deuba



KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has reiterated the commitment that government would hold the election to the House of Representatives and Provincial Assembly in a free, fair and peaceful manner.

Giving a message of best wishes on the occasion of Bada Dashain, a greatest festival of Nepalis, today, PM Deuba said periodic election reinforces democracy.

For the free and fair elections, cooperation and support from all political parties, security agencies, public servants, civil society and media is imperative, he underlined.

He expressed the belief that the elections would pave a way for formation of new government which implements policy and programs to fulfill people’s aspiration of development and prosperity.

PM Deuba wished peace, prosperity, good health and longevity to all Nepalis living in the country and abroad on the occasion of Vijaya Dashami.

He also believed that festivals are invaluable cultural heritages to make our society dynamic and lively and keep us united.

PM Deuba also wished the festival inspired all to take society to the path of truth, justice and integrity.

The Vijaya Dashami is celebrated as the day of victory of truth over evil, and justice over injustice.

The festivals like Dashain foster love, affection, harmony, unity and cooperative feeling within a family and among communities, according to PM Deuba.

He also made aware the people to take account of dengue and adopt safety measures.
