Deposits increase by Rs 11 billion in banks



KATHMANDU: The deposits of commercial banks has increased by Rs 11 billion in the past one week.

According to the data of Nepal Bankers’ Association (NBA), the banks increased their deposit collection by Rs 11.30 billion last week.

After a continuous fall in terms of deposit collection for many weeks, it has finally increased by Rs 11.30 billion to Rs 4,437 billion from Rs 4,426 billion of the previous week.

However, the loan extension of the banks also increased by merely Rs 1.67 billion to Rs 4,181 billion.

Increase in deposits have slightly helped to maintain CD ratio of banks. Banks have been able to maintain the average CD ratio at 88.25 percent last week.
