Maoist Center to collect Rs 100 in levy from party members



KATHMANDU: The CPN (Maoist Center) will collect Rs 100 in levy from each party member with the aim of collecting funds to manage party central office and other creative works.

Money amounting to Rs 80 million is expected to be collected from the total 800,000 party members across the country.

A meeting of party former standing committee members today at the residence of party chair Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ in Khumaltar took a decision to this effect.

The meeting dwelt on the current issues, recently held local election and some dissatisfactions within the party sister organizations, said Maoist leader Haribol Gajurel.

Party has yet to pick party office bearers despite the conclusion of its 8th general convention five months ago.

This issue was also discussed in the meeting, it has been said.

The Maoist Center has stated that it would focus on the federal and province parliamentary elections and party expansion after concluding the picking of party office bearers.
