CHITWAN: Chairman of Maoist Center Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” has said that the country will plunge into a disaster if Nepali Congress supporters of Bharatpur did not cast their votes for Maoist Center’s mayoral candidate.

Addressing a mass rally in Bharatpur on Thursday, Prachanda said that he had formed the Left Alliance for electoral coordination with the CPN-UML after NC showed reluctance to vote for the Maoists in the previous general election.

“Let me warn you that if the NC supporters did not vote for the Maoist candidate in Bharatpur this time, possibilities are that the country would plunge into an accident,” Prachanda said.

Prachanda’s daughter Renu Dahal is the mayoral candidate in Bharatpur.

Maoist supremo Prachanda also expressed the commitment of taking the alliance (with the Nepali Congress and other parties in the current ruling coalition) for 20 more years if Renu Dahal and Chitrasen Adhikari won the local election.

He said that his party would not betray Nepali Congress.

Prachanda also came down heavily on the CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli for creating an unnecessary fuss in the country.

On the occasion, he reiterated the need for a political consensus to bail out the country from instability.
