Convention of NC to elect in 16 districts postponed



KATHMANDU: The convention and election of the Nepali Congress (NC) to elect new leadership in 16 districts have been postponed.

According to the Central Election Committee of the Nepali Congress, the election for the new working committee has been postponed to January 29.

A meeting of the committee held on Wednesday has postponed the party’s district convention and an election due to the National Assembly election that is being held shortly.

Elections are yet to be held in Saptari, Siraha, Dhanusha, Mahottari, Sarlahi, Rautahat, Bara, Parsa, Sindhuli, Makwanpur, Sindhupalchok, Chitwan, Banke, Kailali, Achham and Nawalpur districts.
