Australia committed to provide quality education to Nepali students: Ambassador Felicity Volk

KATHMANDU: Australian Ambassador to Nepal Felicity Volk has said she is excited to welcome Nepali students to study in Australia after two challenging years of COVID19.

Inaugurating the first Australian Education Fair of 2022 in Kathmandu Tuesday, she said Australia had been open since December for students who have been fully vaccinated against COVID19 following the reopening of borders.

Informing that fully vaccinated and visa-eligible students were allowed to enter Australia amid challenges, Ambassador Volk reiterated Australia’s commitment to provide quality education to Nepali students.

Nova Education and Consulting Services held an Australian Educational Fair at the Everest Hotel in New Baneshwor, Kathmandu, from 10 am to 5 pm today.

The fair was attended by 15 organizations, including Australian colleges and universities, as well as educational loan and insurance partners to provide information to students aspiring to study various subjects in Australia. The fair saw participation of thousands of Bachelors- and Masters-level students as well as those completing grades 11 and 12, said Nova’s Executive Director Raman Koirala.

Besides, colleges and universities from Australia, NMB Bank was at the fair as an educational loan partner, IDP Nepal as IELTS partner and Allianz Partners as insurance partner.

The fair provided information on scholarships, post-study work and regional campuses and students availed free educational counseling to study in Australia. One hundred participants were offered free IELTS or PTE classes and one lucky winner is to receive a free airfare to Australia, according to the organizer. Visiting students were also given a SIM card on behalf of Nepal Telecom.
