I have not become CC member at Prachanda’s mercy: Bishwokarma

KATHMANDU: Newly elected central committee (CC) member of CPN (Maoist Center) and lawmaker Durga Bishwokarma has said that she has not become a CC member at the mercy Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’.

Talking to Radio Candid’s talk program, leader Bishwokarma said she has not become the CC member at the mercy of Chairman Prachanda.

“We have been working in the party for a long time and doing politics to bring changes in the society. That’s why we have become central members. Prachanda does not even know many of those who have been elected as central members,” said Bishwokarma.

Leader Bishwokarm said she was elected as the CC member in line with the party statute, due to her hard-work and constant struggle, but not at the mercy of Prachanda.

Defending the leadership, Bishwokarma said Prachanda picked 236 members mostly from those who fought the decade-long Maoist insurgency putting their lives at risk and under the provision  of inclusiveness.

Sher further claimed that the country went into the federal democratic republican political system under the leadership of Prachanda.
