KATHMANDU: The police arrested 22 people with banned drugs from different places in the valley. The Narcotics Control Bureau of Nepal Police, Koteshwar, arrested 18 people including four women in 19 days from July 16 to August 3.
The police arrested 33-year-old Tulsa Khadka, inhabitant of Meringden, Taplejung currently living in Imadol, Lalitpur, on July 24. 1260 tablets of Nitravet, 150 capsules of Proxivan, six tablets of “Dilex DC” and 300 milliliters of red colored liquid resembling codeine were recovered from her.
The police also arrested 35-year-old Buddha Bamjan of Sarlahi Hariwan now living in Besigaun, Jorpati who supplied drugs to Khadka, and Yuvraj Khadka, 27, of Imadol, who assisted Tulsa in drug dealing.
The police arrested both those who were arrested with drugs and those who assisted in the same illegal business and provided drugs.
Similarly, the Narcotics Control Bureau arrested 40-year-old Junmai Moktan of Ramechhap Municipality-9 with 384 grams of heroin on July 29. Police arrested all those involved in drug dealing from different places of Lalitpur, Bhaktapur and Kathmandu in the valley and made all public on Wednesday.
According to Narcotics bureau chief SSP Bikas Khanal, 459 grams of heroin, 1,080 bottles of ‘Dilex DC’, 1,260 tablets of Nitravet and 150 capsules of Proxivan have been recovered from the arrested persons.
The total market value of the seized drugs is Rs 5.81 million, the police informed.
Earlier, the police had arrested African citizen Jack Anton Engelbrecht and 32-year-old Jyothangi from India along with four kilos of illegal drug heroin from Tilganga on July 17.
