NEPALGUNJ: Banke police has arrested three persons with automatic pistols.

According to DSP Madhusudan Neupane of Banke District Police Office, the police have arrested Dipendra Adhikari, 28, of Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolis-12, Sushant KC, 22, of Ward No. 18, and Dwarika Upadhyaya, 32, of Kailali Lamkichuha Municipality-3, have been arrested for carrying automatic pistols  illegally.

The three arrested on Tuesday night were made public by the police at a press conference on Wednesday.

According to DSP Neupane, while inspecting the car (01-025 Cha 3029) heading towards Rapti River from Nepalgunj, an automatic pistol made in America and a home-made weapon including a bullet were found.

The primary investigation revealed that the pistol was bought by Dipendra from Lucknow, India three months ago He had bought it with Asraf Ali for 50,000 Indian rupees.

The culprits were arrested when Dipendra shot the gun to test whether it worked or not which made the police realize that illegal weapons were being carried by someone.

It has been revealed that Dipendra, who is under police control, has been involved in seven different criminal cases before. Police said that the accused has been arrested in four incidents in the current fiscal year.
