Syangja district hospital resumes operation of oxygen plant

SYANGJA: The Syangja District Hospital has resumed operation of its oxygen plant.

The plant that halted its operation for long for want of electricity has a capacity of generating 15,000 liters of oxygen a day, said the hospital medical superintendent Dr Ramesh Prasad Acharya, adding that currently, it has produced 70 to 75 filled oxygen cylinders a day.

“The plant set up around eight months ago was left useless for want of electricity. It resumed operation by expanding the electricity line in coordination and with the help of the Nepal Electricity Authority,” said Chief District Officer Raju Prasad Poudel.

With this, the district will have enough supply of oxygen for patients especially COVID-19 infected ones, said Indra Bahadur Godar, chair of the hospital board of directors.
