UML’s Rajan Bhattarai to contest from Kathmandu Constituency-4

KATHMANDU: CPN-UML has recommended Rajan Bhattarai as a candidate for the November 20 elections to the House of Representatives from Kathmandu Constituency-4.

Bhattarai’s name was unanimously recommended after another claimant, Nirmal Kuikel withdrew his claim.

Bhattarai was the foreign affairs adviser of the then Prime Minister KP Oli.

In the 2074 BS elections, Bhattarai, who had contested the election from Kathmandu Constituency-4, was defeated by Nepali Congress candidate Gagan Thapa.

Likewise, the name of UML senior vice president Ishwor Pokharel has been unanimously recommended from Kathmandu Constituency-5.

He was elected to the House of Representatives from this constituency in the 2074 BS election.

Likewise, the party has recommended the names of Mani Ram Phuyal from Kathmandu Constituency-2, Krishna Rai from Kathmandu Constituency-3, and Rajesh Shakya from Constituency-8.

Meanwhile, UML has instructed its subordinate committees to recommend the name of candidates within September 7 for the elections to the House of Representatives and Province Assembly scheduled for November 20.
