76 dengue cases recorded in Chitwan in one month



CHITWAN: Seventy-six cases of dengue were recorded in the month of Shrawan of the current fiscal year.

The number of dengue cases was confirmed in course of conducting 989 tests.

Only six dengue cases were detected in the corresponding period of the last fiscal year.

According to the Health Office, Chitwan, most of the people infected with dengue in the month of Shrawan were from Khairahani and Ratnanagar municipalities.

Information Officer Ram KC said test of dengue is being conducted at Bharatpur Hospital, as well as at other different hospitals in the district.

He shared, “There is a high risk of spreading dengue infection this year.” Bhadra, Asoj and Kartik months are high risk for dengue, he added.

Dengue is transmitted from the bite of female Aedes mosquito. Fever, headache, body and joint pain, rashes in the body are symptoms of dengue.

Senior physician at the Bharatpur Hospital, Dr Kalidas Adhikari said people suffering from dengue disease visit the hospital every day.

Number of patients infected from dengue disease has increased by five to seven percent, he added.

One should wear full-sleeve dress, sleep inside a mosquito net, and keep their surrounding clean to be safe from dengue infection.

A total of 303 people were infected from dengue disease in course of conducting 5,454 tests in the district in the last fiscal year.
