KATHMANDU: CPN-UML Chairman KP Oli has termed senior leader Madhav Kumar Nepal as a traitor and stated that the party had no room for such person.

Addressing a program organized by UML’s Kathmandu District Committee Saturday, former Prime Minister Oli scoffed at the disgruntled Khanal-Nepal faction for their vote of confidence to Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba and labeled them as traitors.

“There is no space in party for anyone committing treason and anti-party movement, there is no space for the traitors like Madhav Nepal,” UML chairman Oli said. He described the act of giving vote of confidence to PM Deuba as shameful.

Chairman Oli also accused Nepal of toppling the UML government in collaboration with the reactionary forces and forming a right-wing government by joining the regression. He remarked that the court had not split the party.

“The Supreme Court did not split the party, it merely suggested registering the party in another name; I called Prachanda several times and asked him, but he made fun of it and blew it up,” Oli said.

He added after SC verdict, CPN-UML reverted to its previous status and structure but some leaders like leader Nepal betrayed the party and later left it.

Oli also claimed that his party could form next government by getting two-thirds majority in the forthcoming election.
