Fund for treatment of infected journalists to be set up in Kanchanpur



KANCHANPUR: The district working committee of the Federation of Nepali Journalists, Kanchanpur has decided to set up a journalist COVID-19 treatment fund for the treatment of working infected journalists, it has been said.

This decision follows increasing infection cases among journalists. “We have decided to set up a fund for the treatment of infected journalists. We need help and support from all in this regard,” the secretary of the working committee, Rajendra Prasad Awasthi said.

The committee urges all including businesspersons, industrialists, social organizations, school teachers, and social workers to provide help in this regard. Those wanting to contribute to the fund are requested to deposit donated money at the NMB bank’s branch Mahendranagar account (0980129058200011).

Meanwhile, Kanchanpur district has recorded 3,048 infection cases in the past one month and a half (from the first week of the Nepali month of Baisakh to the second week of Jestha) and 2,507 infected people have got over the infection, according to data with the health office, Kanchanpur.
