Retirement period for NA personnel within 16 years



KATHMANDU: The Ministry of Finance has approved the proposal made by the Ministry of Defense to amend the military regulations to provide pension within 16 years of service.

Earlier, the retirement period for all soldiers serving in the Nepal Army was fixed at 20 years.

By amending sub-rule (2) of rule 80 of the Military Rules 2069, the retirement period of followers and privates have been fixed at 16 years, media reports said on Sunday.

The retirement period of Lance Corporal, Corporal, and Sergeant will be 17 years.

Similarly, the pension period of Warrant Officer Second Class will be 18 years and that of Warrant Officer First Class and Subedar Major will be 19 years.

In the case of Second Lieutenant and above, the retirement period will be 20 years as fixed earlier.
