NC order of precedence of newly-elected CWC members out (With list)

Party President Deuba is at the top; presidential candidate Dr. Koirala at 20th spot

KATHMANDU: The Nepali Congress (NC) has made public the order of precedence of 135 Central Working Committee (CWC) members, including office-bearers, elected recently from the party’s 14th general convention.

According to the list made public by NC central office, President Sher Bahadur Deuba is at the top of organizational hierarchy with Vice President Purna Bahadur Khadka at the second spot.

Likewise, Vice President Dhanraj Gurung is placed third in the NC order of precedence.

General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma are at the fourth and fifth spots respectively. The lower ranks are then occupied by party’s joint general secretaries.

Among central members, Gopalman Shrestha is ranked 15th.

Dr. Shekhar Koirala, who lost the NC presidency to Deuba, is placed behind central member Sunil Thapa at the 20th position.

The NC broke tradition this time by placing presidential candidate Dr. Koirala behind office-bearers and former office bearers. In the past, the presidential candidate losing the election at the general convention used to occupy the second rank in the party.

Meanwhile, many leaders in the party are said to be unsatisfied by the party’s order of precedence.
