Demonstration by throwing garbage in front of the Metropolitan Office

KATHMANDU: Youth Congress Nepal (YCN) has protested against the metropolis authority throwing garbage at the entrance of Kathmandu Metropolis Office in Sundhara, Kathmandu on Monday.

Alleging that Kathmandu Metropolitan City did not heed at the garbage problem and the nuisance it caused to public despite the garbage piles lying uncollected for more than three weeks, YCN staged in front of the Kathmandu Metropolitan Office.

The participants chanted slogans against the metropolis authority saying their negligence has resulted in the health hazards to the Kathmanduites.

They displayed placards reading ‘Dirty gift to the mayor’, ‘Dirty politics, dirty city’.

Garbage collection in the Kathmandu Valley has been stopped for three weeks due to the deteriorating road leading to the landfill site at Sisdol in Nuwakot.

The stench has spread after the garbage piled up on the road.
