KATHMANDU: Senior Advocate Shambhu Thapa has suggested Chief Justice Cholendra Shamsher Rana to stay on leave.

Thapa made the suggestion during the ongoing debate on the question raised over the inclusion of Judge Bam Kumar Shrestha in the Constitutional Bench constituted to hear the writ petition against the dissolution of the House of Representatives.

After Thapa raised a question on Judge Shrestha, Chief Justice Rana asked him to give his option.

In response, senior advocate Thapa suggested that Chief Justice Rana stayed on leave.

Advocates have demanded that Justice Shrestha, who had earlier decided the issue related to the CPN (Maoist) name dispute, should not be included in the constitutional bench to hear the dissolution of the House of Representatives.
