Prohibitory orders to be stricter from today

KATHMANDU: The prohibitory orders will be implemented in a stricter manner in different districts of the country from Friday.

The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued orders to other districts to stop the means of transportation and other human activities from today.

Home Spokesperson Janak Raj Dahal stated that the order would be strictly enforced from today even though some flexibility was taken on the first day of the prohibitory orders on Thursday as several vehicles were stuck on the road.

The Ministry said that while prohibitory orders have been fully enforced in 15 districts, partial prohibitory order has been imposed in three districts.

Prohibitory orders have been imposed in districts such as Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Bhaktapur, Kaski, Banke, Kailali, Parsa, Kanchanpur, Dang, Palpa, Chitwan, Rupandehi, Salyan, Surkhet and Sunsari.

Likewise, partial prohibitory orders have been enforced in Kalikot, Baglung and Bardiya districts.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Traffic Police said that more than 2,000 people violating the prohibitory orders were held and released in the Kathmandu Valley on the condition that they followed the orders.
